PITMAN (Jaw Stock) of jaw crusher

Pitman is the main component of a jaw crusher that forms the moving part of the crusher. It functions as the link between the stationary and the moving jaw. The pitman is responsible for transferring the motion of the eccentric shaft to the rest of the crusher components, such as the toggle plate and the swing jaw.

The pitman is typically made of cast iron and is mounted on the eccentric shaft, which is supported by bearings on either side. The pitman rotates as the eccentric shaft rotates, causing the pitman to move up and down in a reciprocating motion. This motion is then transferred to the rest of the crusher components, which results in the crushing of the material.
